Why Horses Help Our Veterans
We provide safe, structured equine experiences where veterans practice grounding skills, build confidence, and learn calm communication alongside horses, peers, and trained facilitators onsite.

Resources
Our resource programs include no-cost ranch visits, small-group equine sessions, family support days, and referrals to trusted mental health partners, helping veterans navigate benefits, community services, crisis hotlines, and ongoing peer networks beyond their time at the ranch.
Stories
After my deployment, crowds and noise overwhelmed me. Working quietly with one horse at Double R Ranch helped me sleep again and reconnect with my kids.
— Aya Nakamura
I was skeptical about equine therapy, but the staff respected my pace. The horse mirrored my anxiety and, over time, my growing calm and confidence.
— Lila Patel
Being around other veterans who understand trauma, without needing to explain everything, made the ranch feel like a second unit where I finally felt safe.
— Mateo García
The team never pushed me to talk. Grooming and leading my horse gave me a way to process memories I had avoided for years.
— Aya Nakamura
